Villa Carlottina, Lake Como

Villa Carlottina is a gem on the shores of Lake Como.
It was built about 200 years ago and was completely renovated in 1997.
The renovation was done preserving many of the original features such as floors, doors and windows.
The villa is only 150 meters from the lake and is immersed in a wonderful private park of over 8,000 square metres.
The walkways inside the park lead, crossing a wonderful olive grove and fruit trees, to various panoramic points from which you can enjoy an enchanting view of the central lake and Bellagio.
The villa of about 410 square meters is spread over 4 levels. The ground floor has a living room with fireplace, eat-in kitchen, bar area, a large covered terrace and a barbeque area.
The three upper floors house 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and 3 other rooms.
The property includes an independent cottage comprising living room with kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom and terrace.
The property also has a swimming pool with solarium and a garage.
The property is accessed along a cobbled path on foot, by motorbike or with a tiny car.
The property is in a truly special and reserved position, in the immediate vicinity of the botanical park of Villa Carlotta and the Grand Hotel Tremezzo.

Tremezzina is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Lake Como, situated on the western shore of Lario, just in front of Bellagio, with a stunning view of the central basin and the Grigne.
It is easy to reach it from all Milan airports: about 1 hour drive from Malpensa, a bit more from Linate and Orio al Serio.
The marvellous villas and huge hotels built from the XVIII to the XIX century, have made Tremezzina an international tourism landmark.
In the area of Rogaro you will be able to admire a fantastic ancient tower, remain of the old medieval fortresses. This small beguiling peace of land extends from the lake shores to the hilly background, at the foot of Mount Crocione.  Tremezzina does have two souls, coastal and hilly, both greatly beautiful and suggestive, offering the opportunity to choose different interesting journeys.
Once there, do not miss the typical excursion to Mount Crocione: you will go up to the mountain through a carriage road until Intignano, that continues up to a muletrack for about 3 hours.
Something really involving is the visit to:
Villa Carlotta (XVIII century), famous for the huge botanical park and the stunning art collection;
Villa La Quiete, located in Bolvedro and built by the Dukes of Carretto in XVIII;
Villa La Carlia, notable building of the middle of 1700, designed by Antonio De Carli;
Church of St Maria, popularly known for the lovely statue of Madonna Nera, moved in 1917 from the basilica of Einsiedeln  by a catholic Swiss family.
