The property includes a courtyard in front of the house and an agricultural land in the immediate vicinity of about 600 square meters.
The house is located in a place of historical significance.
Castel San Pietro was owned by the archbishops of Milan and in 1240 passed under the jurisdiction of Como. The castle is located on a small hill near Lake Piano, now a nature reserve.
It was built in a strategic place, located at the entrance to the roads leading to Val Cavargna and Val di Rezzo. It consisted of a circle of walls with towers and entrance doors, which enclosed the highest area of the town, which in turn served as a refuge in case of external attack.
The complex was enriched by a manor house in the eighteenth century.
The proximity to the natural reserve of Lake Piano, a pedestrian and cycle path that connects Porlezza (Lake Lugano) and Menaggio (Lake Como) and the unique character of the town make this property truly special.
Menaggio and Lake Como are 15 minutes away by car, Porlezza and Lake Lugano are within 5 minutes by car. Lugano’s center is 25 minutes away.
